Annual Information Update |
There are still some parents/guardians who have not completed the Annual Information Update in PowerSchool. This step is vital for many reasons but of primary importance is that we have the most up-to-date emergency contact information for every student.
Please log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal today and complete the required forms: https://oxford.powerschool.com/public/home.html
✅ Only one parent needs to submit the update for each enrolled student.
✅ If you need assistance or have questions, please contact Barb.Massie@oxfordschools.org.
Guides and tutorials are also available on how to create your PowerSchool Parent Portal Account on our district’s For Families page.
Completing this now helps us avoid reaching out to families individually, which saves everyone time. Thank you for taking a few minutes to finish this process! |

Introduction to AI in Education |
Oxford Community Schools is excited to share an important update about how we are thoughtfully beginning to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools into teaching and learning. Our goal is simple: to prepare students for a future where AI is part of everyday life, while ensuring its use is always safe, ethical, and guided by teachers.
We want to be clear: AI use in Oxford is not a “free-for-all.” When working on assignments or learning tasks at school, students will never engage with AI in unsupervised or uncontrolled ways. All interactions take place in teacher-monitored environments using district-approved, FERPA-compliant platforms such as SchoolAI, and never with public or unprotected accounts like ChatGPT or Gemini...

We’re still waiting for final word from the state on whether meals will be free for all students this year. In the meantime, OCS will serve breakfast and lunch for free for everyone through September 30, 2025. The state budget is expected to be finalized by October 1, and we’ll share updates as soon as we have them. In the meantime, we encourage all families to complete the Free/Reduced Price Meal Application. This supports our district in multiple ways and ensures your student is already approved should the free meals program not continue. |

These messages will be sent to the contact information that we have on file for you in PowerSchool so please be sure to complete the information update!
Reminder: You can also easily view your students' attendance information in PowerSchool (desktop or app).
